Uncover the Secrets to Longevity
Trek Through Okinawa, Japan, one of five Blue Zones in the world.
Join our transformative 5-day retreat combining guided hikes, local cuisine, cultural immersion, and knowledge sharing.
Blue Zones
The Blue Zone regions are home to some of the oldest and healthiest people in the world. Although their lifestyles differ slightly, they mostly eat a plant-based diet, exercise regularly, drink moderate amounts of alcohol, get enough sleep and have good spiritual, family and social networks.
Okinawa and Longevity
The islands at the southern end of Japan have historically been known for longevity, once called the land of immortals. Okinawans have less cancer, heart disease and dementia than Americans, and women there live longer than any women on the planet.

Food
Okinawan cuisine is renowned for its life-extending properties, largely due to the use of fresh, local ingredients that feature prominently in its traditional dishes. The cornerstone of this longevity-promoting diet includes staples like bitter melon (goya), sweet potatoes, and an array of sea vegetables, all of which are rich in nutrients and antioxidants. Key dishes such as goya champuru, a stir-fry made with bitter melon, tofu, and eggs, embody the blend of flavors and health benefits typical of the region. Okinawans also consume various kinds of fish, providing essential omega-3 fatty acids, and utilize turmeric and other spices known for their anti-inflammatory properties. This emphasis on whole, locally sourced foods contributes to the island's famously long life expectancies and serves as a model of healthy eating worldwide.
Knowledge Sharing
This program is primarily focused on self-exploration, allowing participants to delve into personal growth and wellness practices. In addition to the structured curriculum, the program offers volunteer-led workshops where participants have the opportunity to share their own expertise in longevity practices. These sessions enrich the community's learning experience and foster a collaborative environment.
Participants who lead a workshop benefit from a reduced cost for the program, enhancing accessibility and encouraging diverse contributions. By sharing their knowledge, they not only deepen their own understanding but also gain valuable teaching and leadership experience.
Workshops can vary in format, ranging from talking circles where experiences and insights are shared in a supportive group setting, to physical practices that might include yoga, meditation, or other body-centric techniques. Each session is designed to last between 1-2 hours, ensuring they are thorough yet concise enough to fit into the day’s schedule comfortably. This structure allows for a dynamic exchange of ideas and practices, promoting a richer, more holistic approach to longevity and personal health.
